What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?įor my own photography, I enjoy capturing real moments, especially within music.

I could list the bumps in the road, but instead of harp on all of them, I just use them as motivation and a learning experience. Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way? I work in music, being able to incorporate my photography while doing freelance music related photo work and organizing a traveling art show called To The Front, which celebrated non-binary and female artists that make music-related art (photographers, graphic designers, illustrators, etc.). I spent some time taking classes at an art school and then started interning which led to paid work and basically each internship or side job led to where I am now. I kept taking pictures and going to shows and discovering music photographers that inspired me. After taking classes throughout school and shooting for local zines and websites, I realized that somehow I wanted to pursue a career in music and photography.

I started documenting everyday life- my friends, family and the punk shows I frequented. I discovered my love for photography in high school. Today we’d like to introduce you to Erica Lauren.Įrica, please share your story with us.
